Rigorous Selection Process Roadmap | Indian Army TES Recruitment 2025

The selection for TES-55 is a multi-stage process focusing on academic merit and assessed leadership potential.

1. Shortlisting of Applications

The Integrated HQ of the Ministry of Defence (Army) will shortlist candidates. This shortlisting is done based on the JEE Mains Common Rank List (CRL) and other internal parameters. Meeting the minimum academic qualifications does not guarantee a call for the SSB interview; the cut-off is determined by the Directorate General of Recruiting.

2. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview

Only shortlisted candidates will receive an intimation via their registered email and SMS regarding the Selection Centre allotment.

  • Centres: The SSB interview will be held at one of the Selection Centres: Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab).
  • Procedure: Candidates undergo a two-stage selection procedure over five days. Those who fail Stage I are returned on the same day, while those who clear Stage I proceed to Stage II, which involves comprehensive assessment by a Psychologist, Group Testing Officer, and Interviewing Officer.
  • Note: The allotment of the Selection Centre is entirely at the discretion of the Directorate General of Recruiting, and requests for changes are not entertained.

3. Medical Examination (Medicals)

Candidates successfully recommended by the SSB are required to undergo a detailed Medical Examination at the nearest Military Hospital. Candidates must have no objection to being examined by a board of Male/Female doctors.

4. Merit List and Joining Letters

The final Merit List for selection is prepared solely based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview. Candidates who are recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued Joining Letters for training in the order of merit, subject to the number of vacancies available.
